Carotid endarterectomy beneficial for stroke prevention in some patients

Dr. Seemant Chaturvedi, director of the Wayne State University Stroke Program, is quoted in the medical newsletter article regarding the effectiveness of carotid endarterectomy in people with severe blockages in their carotid arteries. He said the surgical procedure that removes plaque is "beneficial for those with severe to moderate narrowing in their carotid artery."
